You could say I'm a Jack-of-all trades involving myself in different projects to spark my interests. By day, I work in the marketing section of a public utility company running program analysis and offering customer service. By night, I am a journalist writing stories for Gypset Magazine on entertainment and lifestyle while helping out at a local salsa club promoting events, working the door, and help out in any way to make sure the evenings go smoothly. Yes! I said salsa. I am also a salsa dancer and amateur performer performing all over LA with my salsa team. But that's not the end of it. There's more! I also teach martial arts and a couple of beginner dance classes on a occasion when time permits. Giving back to the community and guiding others to reach their full potential is essentially what I'm about...mostly. I've worked with the Boys & Girls Club for the West San Gabriel Valley, a women's domestic violence support group, El Rescate (an immigrant advocacy organization), and LATTC's Foster Care Program for example. I've also worked in the non-profit sector professionally for a couple years working mostly as researcher or an evaluator. I've worked with First 5 LA, SHIELDS for families, Inc, and SAJE/Figueroa Corridors Community Land Trust. I've consulted with Para Los Ninos and CSU Dominguez Hills on a couple of occasions as well. In sum, I believe in using our gifts to help others when possible and I am a strong advocate for social change and justice. I believe that through education and guidance, we can help our communities prosper and grow positively. View all posts by daznfx
